Alcohol Resistant finish

I would like to turn a whiskey tasting glass (a Glencairn shape) on my lathe but I'm not sure of what kind of finish to use it? Ideally something that would not be effected by concentrated alcohol, and would be able to be rinsed clean with water after use. You mentioned that the Walnut oil was alcohol resistant, but will it effect the whiskey flavour if used when dry? It will be a gift for a whiskey connoisseur, so ideally no! Thanks for your time,

Mitch

Arbutus Ron here...

Try mineral oil on a small piece of clean wood. After well dry put it in a bowl and add some whiskey. Drink. See how it tastes. If OK turn your goblet!
