Arbutus Trees

Arbutus trees are small trees or shrubs with red flaking bark and edible red berries. Fruit development is delayed for about five months after pollination so that flowers appear while the previous years fruit are ripening. A broad leaf evergreen tree up to 30 meters tall usually with a crooked or leaning trunk that divides into several twisting upright branches and an irregularly rounded crown.
