zebra wood?

I have a piece of zebra wood that I would like to use in a cutting board my concern is it has little pin holes in it. I am worried about food and germs getting in them, they are about as big as a pencil point. I was wondering if I can use a polyurethane coating or will a beeswax and mineral oil seal it well enough?

Arbutus Ron here...

I use a carnauba wax from Lee Valley to fill my pinholes. Then I apply walnut oil and beeswax.

Should work fine for you.
