Sunsets are spectacular from the Paige Islets - with Mt.Denman at the head of Homfrey Channel.

Some folks call this anchorage "The Picture Window" and there are a few boats who sit at anchor for days on end.

We tend to come and go from this spot to the other wonderful places in and around Desolation Sound...but always like to return here for our final night before hauling up the anchor, untying the stern line for the last time and cruising back to Deep Cove on the north end of the Saanich Peninsula on Vancouver Island.

We tender to the nearby fresh water lakes (Unwin & Black). We pick up some oysters and clams on Cortez, catch prawns and the occasional fish, water ski, boob tube, jump off the Laura Cove rope swing, swim in "Heaven's Swimming Pool" (the lovely warm waters between Laura Cove and Prideaux Haven) kayak, cruise in the tenders (sometimes tied together) or just float around in our $10 Walmart floaties.

The water temperature was 75F this summer (after July 25th)
The temperature reached 104F in the sun and 93F in the shade.

This is truly a heavenly place.

and Lucy (our 5 year old tri-colour springer) thinks so too!
