Food safe

If I use tinted miniwax water based stain can I use walnut oil to seal it and will it be food safe?

Walnut oil will protect the wood but it is not a complete barrier as oil wears off and needs reapplying. So do so often.

Miniwax is not a food safe product as far as I know, but may be ok if covered with the oil.
