HOW TO UNDERSTAND UNKNOWN WOOD UTENSIL FOR FOOD GRADE
We are using some wooden utensils in our restaurants to serve the food and the thing is that I want to know that how would get to know that wooden material is food grade or not as I'm taking care of hygiene and quality.

Well the best way is a laboratory. If it is used for cooking then the concern is greater as the heat will cause some melting of a finish. If it is not for cooking but serving only, then it may be safer to use even with a high tech finish.
If the wood finish is glossy then most likely it has a synthetic finish. For salads that would be OK, for hot food items not sure! Try it and see what it feels like after.
