Manzanita Wood and Fire

Hello and thank you for the very informative article. We have just purchased a home that has Manzanita around it. I read it is hot burning in one's fireplace. However, I was also told it was fire resistant and good to have around one's home.

Please explain. Thank You

Yes it is great to burn if dead and dry. As far as fire safety for outdoors, I would ask your local fire chief what he or she thinks as I have no idea about that.
