milling an eastern Yew tree

As a very different tree than I am used to, I do not know the best way to mill this saw log. I understand it is a softwood, but very brittle and prone to warping.

Yew wood is not a brittle wood so just mill it as you would any log to your desired thickness.

Then let it dry in well ventilated area and paint the ends so it doesn't split. You can use old paint or special log seal from Lee Valley.
