Sealing a keg

I have just finished an oak port Keg for a mate for his birthday. We have filled it with cheap wine first to test, clean and cure the keg. I have a small weep at one end of the keg (about 20mls/ week. Any suggestions on a sealant I can use to stop the leak. I cant get inside the keg except the 25mm fill hole at the top.

Arbutus Ron here...

My father had an old carpenter's trick for making a screw hole tighter that might work for you in this case.

Make a small tapered piece of wood from a small point at the tip to a thicker diameter at the other end and hammer it in place.

This may work!

I have a port keg. Rolled it with brandy inside first this seels the wood. Have had it for 10-15 years and never had an issue with leakage.
